Thanks to a joint initiative of the Mass Dept. of Conservation & Recreation and the Mass Historical Commission, Peddocks Island--home to an abandoned nineteenth century fort as well as a key location in 2008 for the Martin Scorsese/Leonardo DiCaprio film “Shutter Island’’--will soon be renewed for public use.
